FNCE® and CEU Approvals

The Lifelong Learning team will again be accepting all FNCE® CPE requests via an online submission process. This CPE authorization is only for programs outside the general/spotlight EDU sessions already approved and accepted for the main program. Please note that submissions must be received 4-6 weeks prior to FNCE® to allow adequate time for processing. To expedite approval, please send the agenda and speakers CVs and/or resumes to Lori Granich (lgranich@eatright.org) at the time you submit your request. Academy Board or Directors - Presentation Request

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Board of Directors and/or staff members are available to present at affiliate meetings. The presentation by an Academy Board of Directors member offers a report on recent developments of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Foundation. The presentation highlights the top changes, challenges and initiatives of the profession while focusing on future trends and opportunities.
 
Submit the Board of Directors/Staff Request Form and sends to affiliate@eatright.org at least 60 days out from the meeting.
 
SME/Facilitator Recruitment

The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is recruiting Subject Matter Experts (SME) in obesity as well as expert facilitators to assist with the development and presentation of instructional content and adult learning-focused strategies for the Certificate of Training Program: Adult Weight Management.
 
Applications are due on Monday, August 7, 2017 for the project to be completed by winter 2018. Access more information and application form.
 
ACEND – Future Education Model Accreditation Standards

The ACEND Board is pleased to announce the release of the Future Education Model Accreditation Standards for Associate, Bachelor’s and Graduate Degree Programs. ACEND invites programs interested in being accredited under these standards to apply to be an early adopter demonstration program. The Standards and information about the demonstration program application process can be found at: www.eatrightpro.org/FutureModel. A copy of the June Standards Update also is posted on this webpage.

In-Person President-Elect Affiliate Training Event

The Affiliate Relations team received Academy Board approval to host the in-person Affiliate President-Elect Training event in Chicago, IL this year. This will be a multi-day event for PE’s with opportunities to network, share and learn how to be a successful and effective President. The date of this event is not set yet, but we are planning for March 2018. More information will be provided in the coming months.
 

Membership Materials Request Form

DMIS

DMIS is an online membership database the affiliate can use to manage member and non-member data. DMIS uses data produced through Academy’s software. Data is downloaded daily to the DMIS Web site.

The affiliate president received an email on June 2 with the username and password for the affiliate. The president should determine with whom to share this information. A pre-recorded DMIS Tutorial is available for your viewing.
 
All Member Call to Action for Future Practice

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics House of Delegates (HOD) discussed the future of nutrition and dietetics practice during the HOD Spring 2017 virtual meeting on April 22.
Mega Issue Question - How can credentialed nutrition and dietetics practitioners elevate the profession, expand opportunities, and enhance practice for the Second Century?

Delegates used a variety of strategies to prepare for the discussion and glean member input regarding the future of nutrition and dietetic practice. Delegates conducted presentations, webinars, discussions, and surveys among constituents. Based on the dialogue, report outs, and notes captured in the workbooks from each table, essential areas identified to move the profession forward aligned with the change drivers and recommendations of the Council on Future Practice’s Visioning Report 2017 and the Rationale for Future Education Preparation of Nutrition and Dietetics Practitioners from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). FNCE® 2017 Reimbursement Representative Training Confirmed

2017 Principles of Affiliation

In order to ensure all affiliates are in sound legal and fiscal health, the Academy requires adherence to the annual Principles of Affiliation submission requirement. All affiliates must submit required documents via the online submission in order to obtain the 20% dues rebate from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
